Greensand Filter

Iron, Sulfur and Manganese are oxidized and precipitated by contact with the Greensand media. The filter media is periodically regenerated automatically, by introducing potassium permanganate to the media, and the trapped minerals are backwashed out the drain.

While Greensand is lighter may be effective for lower flow rates when Terminox® can't be used, we do not recommend using them at the residential level. We DO NOT offer a money back guarantee on these filters. There is virtually always a better way.

MANGANESE GREENSAND FILTER :Ideal for lower flow rates when Terminox™ can't be used. Tank jacket is optional.

Operating the Greensand filter in acidic (Low pH) water is not recommended, a simple pH Test will tell you whether your water is acidic or not. If you know your pH is low you can effectively treat it using our Chemical Feeder System.

You can get a pH test kit at almost any pool supply store. If your water has a pH of 7 or less then it is considered acidic and it should be treated (Raised). If you have had your water tested and are looking for another alternative to chemical feeder systems our Acid Neutralizers may be your solution.

We sell many other types of Iron filters. Please let our expert technicians help you to determine the right filter for you. BEWARE of "slicksters" and "snake oil salesmen" trying to sell water softeners as Iron filters that should be your first indication that something is wrong.

How to Treat Iron Bacteria

Chemical Feeder Systems (Chlorine Injection) Complete systems priced from $299.87.Recommended with chlorine systems are Carbon tanks to remove residual chlorine.

Also available are Birm iron filters. Birm works on a principle whereby the iron and manganese are actually oxidized in the media and simple backwashing cleans the bed. No chemical regeneration is required and nothing is imparted into the drinking water. View our line of Birm filters.

Please note: Some assembly is required on most iron filters. You should contact our tech support staff before beginning installationof your new filter for instruction. Thank you.
