The City of Chandler receives its water from three sources: Chandler's surface water treatment plant, ground water, and Central Arizona Project (CAP)exchange water from Mesa.
- The surface water treatment plant treats water from the Salt River, Verde River, the CAP (Colorado River), and Salt River Project (SRP) wells that is transported to Chandler through the Consolidated Canal.
- 21 wells supply ground water from aquifers underlying Chandler. Groundwater is treated with chlorine prior to being introduced into the City's distribution system.
- Chandler also receives water from the City of Mesa as part of an agreement
to treat and distribute Colorado River water from the Central Arizona
Project.
Common Minerals
Calcium and magnesium create one of the most notable changes in your water. As a result, these tasteless minerals dissolve in the water and create hard water. Hard water poses no health risk. Although, it can create numerous challenges for the consumer. The higher the hardness the more effort it takes for soap to perform its cleansing action. Hard water leaves soap deposits in sinks, dishes, glassware and creates scaly calcium deposits on faucets, shower heads and coolers. An ion exchange water softener removes calcium and magnesium ions by replacing them with sodium or potassium. Water Softeners
If you are on a sodium-restricted diet, you may need the addition of a Reverse Osmosis unit starting at just $239. Reverse Osmosis
The average hardness level for Chandler's water ranges from 5.1-29.9 GPG.
Our tech support staff sets the standard for water treatment applications. We understand city water applications are different in each city and ONE SIZE does not fit all.
