This injection pump comes in either 110v or 220v (if not specified it comes with 110v). And comes complete with all hoses, injection fitting and a 15 gallon solution tank. Also it can be used to inject soda ash to raise pH. And eliminate problems associated with acidic water. You can also use this same system to inject chlorine to kill nuisance bacteria. Such as iron bacteria and organics. The same pump can be used to do both in most cases. Please note that for Ecoli and Coliform bacteria you need 20 to 30 minutes of contact time. To obtain the necessary contact time. You need 20 gallons of retention for every 1gallon per minute of flow rate to effectively kill the bacteria.
A retention tank is normally used to allow contact time. Between your water and a chemical that is being injected. It would all depend on what is being injected and why to determine the size of retention needed. Most of the time it is chlorine. To make certain that you have enough retention time with chlorine to kill bacterium, such as e-coli and coliform. You need a minimum of twenty minutes contact time. To obtain that twenty minutes of contact time. You need twenty gallons of retention for every one gallon per minute flow. (To determine your flow rate, please see item #7 on this page: Articles / FAQ's). For example, if you have six gallons per minute flow rate, you would need a one hundred twenty gallon retention (6 x 20=120). The retention contact tanks themselves are made of polymer materials and have aseamless, one piece polyethylene inner shell. Other sizes are available here.
This whole house backwashing carbon filter comes with a 10x54 tank. And a digital state of the art control valve. And 1.5 cubic feet of activated carbon. Carbon filtration is most commonly used to remove heavy chlorine from water. And carbon is also a very good filtration media for removing or reducing hundreds of other chemicals and impurities. As well as bad tastes and odors. The only maintenance required on the carbon filter is to change out the carbon once it has reached its removal capacity. It is inexpensive to replace, costing about $100 for 1.0 cubic foot of carbon (GAC). It is a very economical way to give your family clean, odorless and great tasting water. We have bigger carbon tanks too.
Water softener (7138A) includes the mineral tank, 1 cubic foot of resin, control valve, brine tank, brine well, and brine valve. This unit regenerates (cleans itself) with "state of the art" 'metered' controls. Which means it only regenerates as needed, saving you water and salt (or potassium), as compared to 'timer' models. Usually either once or twice per week, depending on the quality of water. Add a reverse osmosis drinking water system for $199.
