The Huntsville Water Department is supplied by both surface and groundwater sources. Surface water from the Tennessee River is processed through two conventional surface water treatment plants, the South Parkway facility and the Southwest Treatment Plant. Groundwater is supplied from the Lincoln and Dallas Well Treatment Plant, the Hampton Cove Well Treatment Plant, Lowe Mill Well and Williams Well. All ground water sources are located in limestone aquifers.
