Aberdeen's water comes from sixteen ground water wells supplied through underground rock formations along the Atlantic Coastal Plain. Also, the City receives up to 500,000 gallons of water per day from the City of Havre de Grace water treatment plant which supplies Harford County, who, in turn sells the water to Aberdeen. Their plant is supplied by water from the Susquehanna River. Altogether, an average of 1.7 million gallons per day is used to supply the City.
Common Minerals
Calcium and magnesium create one of the most notable changes in your water. As a result, these tasteless minerals dissolve in the water and create hard water. Specifically, hard water poses no health risk. Although, it can create numerous challenges for the consumer. The higher the hardness the more effort it takes for soap to perform its cleansing action. Hard water leaves soap deposits in sinks, dishes and glassware. Also, it can create scaly calcium deposits on faucets, shower heads and coolers. An ion exchange water softener removes calcium and magnesium ions by replacing them with sodium or potassium. Water Softener

Aberdeen is located in Hartford County, Maryland. It is just outside of Baltimore. The average hardness of the water in this area is about 6-8 GPG. Which is considered to be hard.
